I have been at a handling course with Gerard O'Shea, do you know about him? He is a famous handler and course leader here in sweden, he is an irish man.

Well, he have this course with much fun and happiness. And he told us to be glad and not to always say to our dogs what they do wrong. He meant that it was typical swedish to do that.

He lend Norbert for a demonstration and asked me his name. After two-three test he looked at me and says, are you sure? Norbert didn't listen at all.

Once he lend a little dog who always wanted to sit down. And in a few seconds he hade the dog standing perfect and it was glad and alert and running around him and then *bang* he stand, running around Gerard and once againg *bang* he stands end so on. All applaud and when he passed me to give back the dog to the owner I said to him. Well done, will you please do the same thing to my hound?

Then he said to me:

I am Gerard O'Shea not Harry Potter

And he said to me that I must be faster and that bordercollie owners do everything very quickly and the dogs are quick. but sighthoundsowner do everything slower and slower.

It seems to fit in on me, I have always wanted my schipperkes to react fast to my orders. But with Norbert I standing there and wait and wait until he has the time to do what I told him..... I didn't think about it before but it is so. Any one else who regognize themselves?

Any way we learn to stand the dogs up nice and easy. I looking forward to the next time. It is two times.

My excuse is that the children never answer and the dogs are just copying them

Thanks all.
Last monday it was course again. But since Norbert has been limping last week I didn't want him to run so much. I only have him for one hour then he rest in the car and I take Ludde instead my schipperke.

But Norbert is now very good at standning still, and he have expression in his face most of the time when he stands. But running is not he's strong side. He is rather lazy and it is hard to have him explosive like Gerard says. ha ha ha I don't think he have handling a DH. But I will go on and training him.
