My own deerhound (Pyefleet Isadora, Issy) died many years ago, but seeing these pictures has brought back so many happy memories. We could never understand how a dog supposedly able to spend nights out on the wild Scottish moors, could have such a sixth sense for spotting the softest bed, rug or chair! And obviously sleeping on her back in unladylike poses was not peculiar to Issy!

Closing Date for Sleepy Hound - 31st August 2008
I think its time to put the sleepy deerhound competition to bed - at the end of the month. Thanks for all the entries - I've enjoyed looking at them all - still time for more though!

Well, what a surprise when I logged in today! Thank you so much for selecting Enya as your winner. She was a great girl and I'm glad she continues to bring joy to people through her photos.
