Please spare a thought for those in Australia with dogs&other animals that have been dreadfully affected by the bush fires that are still burning with another weekend of high temperatures&winds approaching.Much of Australia bush has been completely dried out due to extreme weather temperatures&with the drought there is little water on alot of properties that rely on tank water alone.
Many people have lost houses but closer to the heart people&Dogs...
The president of the Deerhound Club Of Victoria,Kenn Airens&Els have lost everything but are safe as are the deerhounds!
Any donations to bush fire victims would be greatly recieved..
I think of you people every day, I've seen films and pictures from the fires adn it is terrible. I feel sorry for you and I hope that you are well. Do you live near the fire area?
Yesterday morning in the news they talked about rain in the nearly days is it true? We can only hope so.
Good luck to you all in Australia and specially in Victoria of course.
Fortunately I live near the sea but so many people from the Deerhound Club&other dog organisations live in the affected areas-which at this stage would not be hard. There has been a light scattering of rain in these areas however most of the rain has been coastal. Its all about the wind direction really&the wind is what is a concern..
Many dog shows have been cancelled&the ones that go ahead will be showing the loss of members&dogs.Reading the VCA site is heartbreaking with many lives, houses&animals lost.People having to choose which dogs to take with them as they cant take them all.
It is especially hard for those with large/giant breeds as space in transport vehicles is often limited..We are all on stand-by with friends to help evacuate the dogs though the fires have been fierce&unpredictable having taken people by suprise.
Yes thankyou..!
Have spoken to Kenn today who has confirmed he,Ells&the dogs are doing okay..They are staying with people who have fallen in love with the hounds so are in a good place.
So appallingly sad to hear that Kenn Airens has lost his place. Very good to hear everyone and the dogs are ok though. Have fond memories of a great day of eating/drinking and lure coursing there 18 months ago after the DCV show.
Thank you to everyone who turned out for the "Summer Dinner" for the Deerhound Club Of Victoria.
It was a great night to spend some quality time with Kenn and Els Airens at 'Worlingwoth'.
